2018年12月23日、野鳥の会主催の北印旛沼探鳥会に参加した。曇りで霧もでて天気は良くなかった。 印旛沼は広く自然が残る沼なので無数ともいえる水鳥がいた。遠くに数種類の猛禽類も確認できたが、霧と遠さで写真撮影には向かなかった。 突然一羽の猛禽が比較的近くを飛び去った。
On December 23, 2018, I participated in the birdwatching at North Inba-Pond held by the wild bird association. It was cloudy and foggy and the weather was bad. Since the Pond is very big and nature remains, there are countless of waterfowls. We could confirm several birds of prey in the distance, but it was not suitable for taking pictures with fog and distance. Suddenly a bird of prey flew relatively closely. . .

このチュウヒは頭、首、肩羽、外側初列風切、小雨覆が黒いほかは白っぽく、腰が白いので大陸型と呼ばれるチュウヒと判断された。
This eastern marsh harrier is whitish except head, throat, scapular and primaries. From these characteristics the bird was judged to be an eastern marsh harrier of the continental type.

やがてチュウヒは沼から山の方向に飛び去った。私はアルゼンチンのニメス湖（Laguna Nimez）で アンデスチュウヒを見たことがあります。
Eventually, the harrier flew away from the swamp in the direction of the mountain. I have had seen Cinereous Harrier at Lake Nimez in Argentina.
