こちらの小鳥は顔の模様の明瞭なホオジロのオスだ。こちらの小鳥は顔の模様の不明瞭なホオジロのメスだ。
This is the male Meadow bunting having the clear pattern of the face. This is the female Meadow bunting having the quiet pattern of the face.
2016年3月29日、柏の葉公園を散歩した。第2水辺公園を歩いていると目の前の灌木の枝に小鳥が2羽飛んできて止まった。早朝、餌を探している様子だった。歌舞伎役者の隈取顔のような白黒模様の顔を持つこの小鳥はホオジロのオスだ。もう一羽が木の枝から餌（虫？）を取ったようだ。この小鳥の顔の模様は薄いのでホオジロのメスのようだ。
On March 29, 2016, I strolled in Kashiwanoha Park. When I was walking the second Kashiwanoha waterside park, two Meadow buntings came and perched on twigs in front of me. They seemed to be looking for bait early in the morning. This bird having the face of black and white pattern like the kumadori makeup face of kabuki actor is a male Meadow bunting. Another one of them seemed to catch bait (worm?) from the branch of the tree. This bird will be a female Meadow bunting though it is not clear because of the backlight condition.
