2016年5月19日、我孫子市にある手賀沼公園を散歩した。公園の遊歩道を歩いていると、前回と同じ土手にキジがいるのに気付いた。 「あれっ、つがいでいるよ。」オスの横にメスのキジがいた。メスは茶褐色の地味な色をしているので、動くまでは気付かなかった。
On May 19, 2016, I strolled in Tega-Pond Park in Abiko city. When I was walking the promenade of the park I noticed a Green pheasant on the remote bank just the same place as before. “Oh, you’ve made a pair!” There was a female pheasant beside the male. I did not notice the female until it moved because the plumage is quiet dark brown.
キジのメスはオスより少し小さいが、立派なメスに見える。キジのメスはオスに比べ人間に対し警戒心が強いようだ。

食事中ですね。 キジは主に草の種子、芽、葉などの植物性のものを食べるが、昆虫やクモなども食べる、とあるが、 遠いので何を食べているのか分からない。
