海面から時々魚が飛び上がった。ボラかな？魚は沢山いるようだが、ミズナギドリが魚を捕る行動を見ることはなかった。ミズナギドリは殆ど海に浮いていたが、時々飛ぶこともあった。水面近くを真っ直ぐに飛んで行く特徴のある飛び方は面白い。 翼の先端が殆ど海面についている。この飛び方を、翼で水面を切る（薙ぐ）ミズナギと言うのだろうか？海面近くを飛んで行くが、餌を探しているようには見えなかった。
Some fish sometimes flew up from the sea surface. Are they Flathead grey mullet? There seem to be a lot of fish, but I did not see the shearwater to catch the fish. It is interesting to see the special flight of the shearwater to fly straight close to the surface of the water. The tip of the wing is almost touching the sea surface. I wonder that this flight is referred to as the shearing of water. The bird was flying close to the surface of the sea, but it did not seem to be looking for bait.
羽ばたくとき翼の裏面が見えた。雨覆い羽が白っぽく見える。ミズナギドリがやや高く飛んだ。 細長く長い翼を持っていることが分かる。ミズナギドリは高速飛行だけでなく餌を追う潜水に適応進化した鳥だ。
I was able to see the underwing when the bird flapped. Wing coverts look whitish. The shearwater flew slightly high. The long and narrow wing is visible.
ミズナギドリが飛んでいる下の海面で時々水しぶきが上った。鳥の翼が海面に接したためではない。 海面近くにいた魚が鳥の姿を見てパニックを起こしているように見えた。
