ノートPCに接続して13年使った外部Displayがとうとう故障した、The external display I had connected to my laptop for 13 years finally broke down.
2023年8月17日、午後5時ころ、XPS-15+外部Displayを使っていると、突然Displayの画面の右側にたくさんの横線がチラチラ現れ、近くのラジオから大きい雑音が出た。しばらくしたら（約1分）画面は正常になった。この日は問題なくPCを終了できた。
On August 17, 2023, around 5 pm, when I was using the XPS-15+ external display, a lot of horizontal lines suddenly appeared on the right side of the display screen, and a loud noise came from a nearby radio. After a while (about 1 minute) the screen returned to normal. On this day, I was able to shut down my PC without any problems.
今朝（2023年8月18日）、XPS-15の電源を入れると、HDMI接続のDisplayの電源ランプが赤から青になり信号が入ったことは示された。しかし、画面は暗いままで何も表示されない。PCを強制終了し、同じ操作をした。やはり同じ現象だ。Dpsplayの電源を入り切りを繰り返すと、最初Windowsの初期画面が1秒程度表示されてすぐ何も表示されなくなった。これを何回か繰り返したら、Windowsの初期画面もでなくなった。やはりDisplayが壊れたようだ。もう13年使ったDisplayなので買い替える必要は感じていた。
This morning (August 18, 2023), when I turned on the XPS-15, the power lamp on the HDMI-connected Display changed from red to blue, indicating that a signal was received. However, the screen remains dark and nothing is displayed. I forcedly shut down my PC and did the same thing. It’s still the same phenomenon. When I repeatedly turned Dpsplay on and off, the initial Windows screen was displayed for about 1 second and then nothing was displayed. After repeating this several times, the initial Windows screen no longer appeared. It seems like the display is broken after all. I’ve been using the Display for 13 years, so I felt the need to replace it.
