小っちゃい旅人, A tiny traveler
2016年2月28日、千葉市泉自然公園の野鳥ボランティアガイドに参加した。
On February 28, 2016, I participated in the voluntarily birding tour held at Izumi Natural Park in Chiba.
2月下旬になり、梅の花が開花し、早咲きの桜も咲き始めた。梅林の広場に行くと、ジョウビタキ（メス）がいた。
It was the end of February and the plum trees were blossoming, and the early blooming flower of cherry tree has begun to bloom. There was a Daurian redstart (female) when the tour group went to the open field of plum trees.
ジョウビタキのメスはかわいいので梅の花とも似合うが、小鳥自身は虫を食べるので花には関心がない。
The female Daurian redstart looks good with the flower of the plum because the small bird is pretty. However, the bird is unconcerned about the flower because it eats insects.
グループツアーが終わった後で、また同じ場所に行ってみるとやはりジョウビタキがいた。ジョウビタキは草原から梅の木の枝に飛び移ってしばらくじっとしていた。お昼なので、広場には家族連れも来てお弁当を食べていた。ジョウビタキはあまり人間を気にしない。
After the group tour was over, I saw the Daurian redstart again when I went to the same place. The bird jumped from the grassy plain to the branch of the plum tree and kept still for a while. Some families were visiting the field of plum blossoms and eating lunch because it was noon. The Daurian redstart does not mind much human being.
チベットから中国東北部、沿海州、バイカル湖周辺で繁殖し、非繁殖期は日本、中国南部、インドシナ半島北部への渡りをおこない越冬する。日本では冬鳥として全国に渡来する。ヒタキ類のように樹上から飛び立ち羽虫を空中捕獲で捕食する他、ツグミ類のように地上に降りることも多い。
It was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family (Turdidae), but is now generally considered to be an Old World flycatcher (Muscicapidae). It is a fairly common bird in East Asia, ranging eastwards from Mongolia and the Himalayas. It is migratory; P. a. auroreus winters in Korea, Japan, southeast coastal China and Taiwan.
