2019年4月22日、東京でも気温が25度以上になり夏日となった。公園の森に行くと、野鳥写真撮影グループの姿が見られた。 高い広葉樹の木の枝にサンショウクイが止まっていた。細長い体に白と黒の羽衣を持つサンショウクイ（オス）はおしゃれに見える。 サンショウクイはセキレイと似ているが、 木の枝に体を立てて止まる姿勢が異なる。
On April 22, 2019, the temperature in Tokyo was over 25℃ and it was summer day. When I went to the forest of the park, I saw a wild bird photographer group. There was an Ashy minivet perching on a branch of a broadleaf tree. The ashy minivet (male) with white and black plumage on a slender body looks fashionable. The ashy minivet resembles White wagtail, but it takes different posture when it perches on a branch, the minivet vertically and the wagtail horizontally.

サンショウクイの飛び方は面白い。上方以外に飛び出すときは羽を全く広げない。いわゆるヒヨドリ型の飛び方をする。
It is interesting to see how the ashy minivet flies. When it jumps out except above, it does not spread the wings at all. It flies in the so-called Brown-eared bulbul style.

サンショウクイは頻繁に木の枝を飛び移り虫を探していた。細い枝に張り付いていた青虫を見つけて嘴でつまんだ。 サンショウクイは青虫を木に叩きつけてから飲み込んだ。
The ashy minivet often flew and moved among branches looking for worms. It found a green caterpillar stuck on a thin branch and pinched it. The bird beat the caterpillar against the tree and then swallowed it.

サンショウクイはやや遠い木の枝に移動した。ここでも青虫を見つけたようだ。
The bird moved to a somewhat distant tree branch. It seemed to find a caterpillar here too.
