オオソリハシシギ（オス）が獲物を捕まえた。多毛類（ゴカイ類）のようだが、随分細長い動物だ。オオソリハシシギのメスも獲物を捕まえたようだ。

2017年5月8日、船橋市にあるふなばし三番瀬海浜公園に行った。長靴を履いて干潟を歩いていくと遠くにたくさんの海鳥の群れが見えたので、 近づいてみるとシギやチドリの群れだった。その中に、上に反っている長いくちばしを持つオオソリハシシギもいた。
On May 12, 2016, I visited Funabashi Sanbanze Seaside Park in Funabashi city. As I walked on the tidal flats with my boots in, I could see flocks of seabirds in the distance, so when I went near, they were a group of sandpipers and plovers. Among them, there was also a group of Bar-tailed godwit with long and slightly upturned bill.
オオソリハシシギの群れが飛んだ。飛んでいるオオソリハシシギを見ると、翼が長く長距離飛行に向いていることが分かる。 オオソリハシシギは一万キロノンストップ飛行の世界記録を持つと言う、すごい飛行能力だ。

オオソリハシシギが着水しようとしている。着水するときのオオソリハシシギを見ると、長い翼をどのようにしてコンパクトに折りたたんでいるのか不思議に思ってしまう。
