旧北区と北アメリカの寒帯の森で広く繁殖分布し、日本では冬鳥であるキレンジャク, Bohemian waxwing breeding widely in the northern forests of the Palearctic and North America and being a winter bird in Japan.

2020年3月25日、秋ヶ瀬公園の近くで会ったバーダーさんが教えてくれた「いまピクニックの森でキレンジャクの写真を撮って来たところだ、 今行けば写真撮れるよ」。森に行くと、野鳥写真撮影グループの姿が見られた。トリビトのターゲットはレンジャクだ。 キレンジャクが比較的近い木の枝に止まっていた。
On March 25, 2020, A birder, who I met near Akigase Park, told me, “I’ve just taken pictures of Bohemian waxwings in the Picnic forest, and you can take pictures of them if you go now.” When I went to the Picnic forest, I saw a wild bird photographer group. Target of the group was the waxwings.

枝に止まったキレンジャクが後ろを向いた時、羽の黄色、黒、赤の模様が良く見えた。尾の先端には明るい黄色の帯がある。 次列風切の先端には赤い蝋状の突起物があり英名(Waxwing) の由来である。
When the Bohemian waxwing turned back on the tree branch the yellow, black and red patterns of the wings were clearly visible. The tail ends in a bright yellow band. The secondaries tips have the red waxy appearance that give this species its English name.

比較のため左にキレンジャク、右にヒレンジャクの写真を示す。キレンジャクの腹は灰褐色だが、 ヒレンジャクの腹は黄色みを帯びている。
