日本では普通でも外国では珍しいヒヨドリ, Brown-eared Bulbul, very popular bird in Japan but rare bird in other countries.

2016年1月24日、柏の葉公園を散歩した。冬は野鳥の餌が乏しい。ヒヨドリがまだ残っていたセンダンの実を食べていた。センダンの果実は小鳥にとっては大きく、果肉は少なく種子が大きい。それでも果実は冬の1月までも残っているので、ヒヨドリとムクドリが食べに来る。
On January 24, 2016, I strolled in Kashiwanoha Park. Foods of wild bird are scare in winter. A Brown-eared bulbul was eating remaining fruits of chinaberry trees. The fruit of the chinaberry tree is large for small birds, the pulp is small and the seed is large. The fruits still remain until January of winter, so White-cheeked starlings and Brown-eared bulbuls come to eat them.

センダンの果実を飲み込んだヒヨドリはしばらくじっとしていた。ドライフルーツは消化が良くないだろう。このヒヨドリは地面に落ちたセンダンの実を拾って食べていた。
The Brown-eared bulbul that swallowed the fruit of the chinaberry tree stayed still for a while. The dry fruit will not digest easily. This Brown-eared bulbul picked up the fruit of the chinaberry tree that fell on the ground and was eating it.
