秋ヶ瀬公園のコイカル, Chinese grosbeak of Akigase Park
この日（Mar. 25, 2018）は日曜日なので、子供の森周辺は花見バーベキューを楽しむ家族連れでいっぱいだった。ピクニックの森に行くと、 バーベキューが禁止されているので、野鳥写真撮影グループの姿が見られた。尋ねると、コイカルがいると言う。 コイカルは珍しいため、ヒレンジャクより人気がある様子だ。
Since it was Sunday (Mar. 25, 2018), the area surrounding the children’s forest was full of families enjoying a barbecue near the cherry blossom. When I went to the picnic forest, where the barbecue was prohibited, I saw a wild bird photographer group. On asking, they said that there were Chinese grosbeaks. It seems that the Chinese grosbeak is more popular than the Japanese waxwing because it is rare to see in Japan.
コイカルのオスは頭部が光沢のある濃い紺色であり、メスの頭部が暗灰褐色であることと異なる。
The head of the male Chinese grosbeak is shiny dark blue, which is different from the dark grayish brown color of the female head.
この日もピクニックの森に行くと、野鳥写真撮影グループの姿が見られた。前回（2018/03/25）と同じ場所にコイカルがいた。 この日は訪問時刻が早かったのでコイカルが餌を取る場面を長く観察できた。
When I went to the picnic forest, I saw a wild bird photographer group again. There were Chinese grosbeaks in the same place as the last time (March 23, 2018). Since the visiting time was early on this day, I was able to observe the feeding scene of the Chinese grosbeak for a long time.
この木はムクノキだろうか？新芽がでているが、黒い果実もついている。コイカルは枝から枝に飛び移って果実を食べていた。
