　ハナムグリ類は鞘翅を広げず、僅かに持ち上げることによって腹部との間に隙間を作ってここから後翅を広げる。これによって多くの甲虫に比べて格段に機敏な飛翔をすることが可能になっている。
Cetoniinae does not raise their elytra, but slightly lifting it creates a gap between the elytra and the abdomen, and the hindwings are expanded from here. This makes it possible to fly much more agile than many beetles.

イヌザンショウの花にたくさんのハナムグリ（コアオハナムグリGametis jucunda）が訪れている。
