散歩中しているとホバリングしている小さいハナアブ（ヒラタアブ）に出会う季節になった。カメラの性能テストと私の運動能力テストとして面白いので毎年撮影する。
It’s the season to meet the hovering hoverfly while taking a walk. I shoot every year because it’s fun as a camera performance test and my athletic ability test.
高速に一対の翅を動かしホバリングから急発進などを繰り返す飛行には驚く。さらに驚くのは、後翅が退化して出来た平均棍の働きだ。
I am surprised at the flight that moves a pair of wings at high speed and repeats from hovering to a sudden start. Even more surprising is the work of Halteres, which was created by the degeneration of the hind wings.
