偏見で殺されたヘビ, The snake killed by prejudice
2025年5月26日、茂原公園を早朝散歩した。遊歩道に小さいヘビがいた。触っても動かない、死んでいるようだ、朝早く散歩する人がいるので、頭を踏まれて死んだのではないか、と思った。
これまで見たことのないヘビだと思った。家に帰ってインターネット検索したらヒバカリのようだ。薄明薄暮性傾向が強いとあるので、早朝に遊歩道に出ていたのかもしれない。死んだのは残念だ。
On May 26, 2025, I took an early morning walk in Mobara Park. There was a small snake on the promenade. It didn’t move when I touched it, and it looked dead. There were people walking early in the morning, so I thought it might have died because it had been stepped on.
I thought it was a snake I’d never seen before. When I got home and searched the Internet, I found that it was a Japanese keelback. It has a strong crepuscular tendency, so it might have been out on the promenade early in the morning. It’s a shame that it died.
