A Japanese white-eye eating dry fruits of Chinese sumac in winter.

On Jan. 18, 2017, I strolled in Konbukuro-Pond Natural History Park. Two Japanese white-eyes flew near and perched on the branch of the tree around the small grassy plain.

There were still many dry nuts on the tree. The tree will be the Chinese sumac. The Japanese white-eye started eating them. The white-eye seemed to swallow the dry nut as it is. Because it is winter, there are few other foods. I felt a wild taste of the white-eye which was quite different from the image of sweet tooth gathering in flowers.
