秋ヶ瀬公園のベニマシコ, Long-tailed rosefinch of Akigase Park

冬季、さくら草公園付近の広場にはベニマシコが群れてやってくる。

この場所にはベニマシコの群れがやってくるのでオスとメスを見ることができた。ベニマシコのメスは地味な色をしている。

この広場にはユキヤナギの灌木が沢山生えている。ユキヤナギは3月になると小さい白い花を枝全体につける。 2月には花のつぼみができるのでベニマシコはそれを食べにやってくる。 ベニマシコは灌木の中に入って餌を取っているのでなかなか外に出てこないがたまに全身が見える場所に移動する。 写真撮影に来た方々はその時を待って何時間も待機しているようです。
A lot of Spiraea thunbergii are growing in this place. The Spiraea thunbergii puts small white flowers throughout the branch in March. In February the Spiraea thunbergii puts flower buds and the rosefinch seems to come to eat them. The rosefinch rarely comes out from the shrub because the bird eats the buds in the bush. People who came for photography seemed to be waiting for hours until the rosefinch appears outside of the shrub.
