柏の葉公園のキジバト, Eastern turtle dove in Kashiwanoha Park
柏の葉公園にはキジバトが多い。明るい森林に生息するハトなので広い公園は環境が似ているためだろう。 このハトは英名が表すように日本を含む東洋に生息する。ヨーロッパには近縁種が生息する。南北アメリカには生息しない。 日本ではヤマバトとも呼ばれ、オスのさえずり声はよく「デデッポッポー」という擬声語（オノマトペ）表現される。 都市部での狩猟が制限されるようになってからあまり人間を恐れなくなり都市部へ進出した。
There are many Oriental turtle doves in Kashiwanoha Park, Japan. This dove inhabits bright forest and the environment of large park resembles that, this may be the reason. This dove inhabits the Orient including Japan as its English name indicates. This small species is very similar in plumage to its European counterpart, the turtle dove. This dove does not inhabit North and South America. In Japan this dove is called Mountain dove and the male song voice used to be expressed with “de-de-ppo-ppo-“ as onomatopoeia. This dove does not fear of human being too much after certain limitation of hunting in the urban area and expanded into that area.
