オオシオカラトンボ, Orthetrum melania

こんぶくろ池自然博物公園を散歩していると、木の幹に止まったオオシオカラトンボを見かけた。普通このような場所に止まっているのを見かけない。何となく初々しく見える。オオシオカラトンボのメスのような体の色だが、尻尾のあたりをよく見るとオオシオカラトンボの未熟なオスだ。

While walking around Konbukuro-Pond Nature Museum Park, I spotted an Orthetrum melania perched on a tree trunk. I don’t usually see them perched in places like this. It looked somehow innocent. Its body color was similar to that of a female Orthetrum melania, but if you look closely at its tail, you’ll see that it’s an immature male Orthetrum melania.
