2020年1月6日、手賀川流域で上空高くハヤブサが飛んで行くのを見かけた。腹部に縦縞があるので幼鳥のようだ。 ハヤブサは鳥類のみならず、動物界で最速の記録保持者だ(389 km/h)。
On January 6, 2020, I saw a Peregrine falcon flying high above the Tega River basin. It looks like a young bird with vertical stripes on the belly.

下から見上げた場合、ハヤブサとチョウゲンボウは似ているが、上面が見えれば羽衣の色で区別がつく。 この写真で背中の色が黒っぽく見えるのでハヤブサと分かる。
If we see from below, Peregrine falcon and Common kestrel are similar, but if we can see the back we can distinguish them by the color of the plumage. In this picture, the color of the back looks dark, so we can see it as the peregrine falcon.
