2024年1月19日、今年初めてのバードウォッチング、水元公園に出かけた。ルリビタキ（メス）が林のやや薄暗い場所の朽木の所で虫を見つけた。黒っぽいゲジのような虫だ。ルリビタキはしばらく虫をくわえていたが、やがて飲み込んだ。
On January 19, 2024, I went bird watching for the first time this year to Mizumoto Park. A female Red-flanked bluetail found a worm on a rotten tree in a somewhat dimly lit area of the forest. It’s a black cave centipede like worm. The Red-flanked bluetail held the insect in its mouth for a while, but then swallowed it.
ルリビタキは虫を飲み込んだ後で背伸びをするような姿勢をとった、餌を胃に落とすためかな？
After swallowing the worm, the Varied tit seems to stretch its back, perhaps to drop the food into its stomach?
