2016年5月1日、習志野市にある谷津干潟公園を散歩した。干潟の浅瀬で羽毛の模様が目立つシギが餌を探していた。
On May 1, 2016, I strolled in Yatsu-higata Park in Narashino city. A snipe with outstanding plumage was looking for bait in the shallows of the tidal flats.

大変特徴のある羽毛の模様だが、遠くから見ると背景の干潟の保護色になっている。
The plumage of the bird has very special pattern, but is the protective coloration of the background tidal flats from a distance.
