長距離の渡りをする驚きの小さい旅人ミユビシギ, Sanderling, an amazing small traveler known as a long-distance migrating bird.
2016年5月12日、船橋市にあるふなばし三番瀬海浜公園を散歩した。10時半頃を過ぎると潮が引いて来てしだいに広い干潟が現れ始めた。その干潟に沢山のシギやチドリが集まってきた。左の写真には小さいシギが2羽並んでいる。手前のシギは腹部が黒い夏羽の特徴からハマシギであることが分かる。後ろのシギはハマシギと似ているが、腹部が白く、ハマシギとほぼ同じ大きさであることからミユビシギと思われる。トウネンもよく似ているが体が小さい。
On May 12, 2016, I strolled in Funabashi Sanbanze Seaside Park in Funabashi city. The tide went down and large tidal flats had gradually begun to appear after about half past 10. Many sandpipers and plovers gathered in the tidal flats. There are two small sandpipers in the left photo. The front bird will be the Dunlin from the characteristic of bleeding plumage of black belly. The bird on the back resembles the Dunlin, but it seems to be the Sanderling because the belly is white and the size is almost the same as the Dunlin. Red-necked stint also resembles closely, but it is smaller than the Dunlin.
殆ど同じ大きさと羽衣を持つシギが2羽ならんでいた。これらは夏羽のミユビシギと思われる。
There were two sandpipers close to each other. These seems to be the Sanderling with bleeding plumage.
干潟を歩いているこのシギの頭部はやや白っぽいが、やはりミユビシギと思われる。体は小さいが長距離の渡りをするシギとして知られている。私はガラパゴス諸島のイサベラ島でミユビシギを見た。本当に驚く小さい旅人だ。
The head of this sandpiper waling the tidal flat is slightly whitish, but after all it seems to be the Sanderling. This bird is small but is known as a long-distance migrating bird. I saw the Sanderling in Isabela Island of the Galapagos Islands. It is really an amazing small traveler.
干潟を歩いているこのシギの頭と背中、羽は赤褐色で、足の後指（第一趾）がないことも見えるのでミユビシギと思われる。
The head, back and wings of this sandpiper waling the tidal flat are dark reddish-brown, and the foot does not have the first finger, then the bird will be the Sanderling.
