(An American Warbler in Selva Verde Lodge, Costa Rica)

There were some small birds which were moving about the ground restlessly close against the brook of Selva Verde Lodge in Costa Rica early in the morning. In addition to its fast-moving it was dark, such a small bird is a weak point for the compact camera to take its picture clearly. I took several photos and thought that it resembled wren family, but was not able to identify an appropriate species.

It is dark olive-brown above with a grey head, buff supercilium, and the conspicuous rich buff rump and upper tail. The underparts are whitish with some buff on the flanks. I found an appropriate species of the small bird of the American warbler. Wiki: “This is a common species, easily seen and identified as it hops on the ground, pumping and swinging its broad tail constantly.” It was exactly so. After all, I was able to take photos of the 61 species of birds of Costa Rica.
