ムシクイコノハズク (Megascops guatemalae)

ガイドが、静かにこちらに来て、フクロウがいる、と言いました。木の枝と木の葉に隠れた暗い空間に丸い物体が見えました。夜に活動する野生のフクロウを見るのは初めてです。１枚目の写真はガイドさんに撮ってもらいました。その後で自分でも撮りました。暗いのにこれだけ良く特徴が分かる写真になっている。肉眼では特徴があまり分かりませんでした。
The guide said “Come here quietly, there is an owl.” I saw a round shaped object that was hidden in the branches and leaves of the tree. This is the first time for me to see the wild owl that is active at night. The guide could take a photo of it. I also took myself afterwards. The photo exhibits the feature of the owl pretty good. I could not see the feature much by my naked eye.

全身が茶色っぽく腹部には縞模様があります。頭頂に耳介状の羽毛（羽角）が生えているので、和名ではミミズクと呼ばれるでしょう。
