ハイイロペリカンは魚をダイビング・キャッチする。大きな下あごの袋を持つペリカンの姿からは想像し難いが、ガラパゴスでは普通に見られる。
Brown pelican dives into the sea and catches fish. It is hard to imagine that from the shape of the pelican having big bag of the lower jaw, but is seen commonly in Galapagos.

魚めがけてダイブするハイイロペリカン。まるでジュラ紀の翼手竜のような姿に見える。
The Brown pelican which performs a dive at a fish. It looks like an animal as if it were Jurassic pterosaur.

ハイイロペリカンは頭部から海面に飛び込んだ。かなり水しぶきが上がった。ハイイロペリカンは体形の違いから、カツオドリのように深くは水中に潜らないようだ。
The Brown pelican dived into the sea from the head. Spray considerably broke out. The Brown pelican does not seem to dive into underwater deeply like Blue-footed booby from the difference of the body shape.
