この場所はNorth Seymour Island唯一の上陸地点だ。ここには簡単な岩の階段が作ってあり、人々はタグボートから海に入ることなく上陸できる。
This place is the only landing place of the North Seymour Island. The stairs made of rock are prepared here, and people can land the island directly from the tugboat.

岩場で甲羅の赤いカニをよく見かけた。島に上陸したら早速リクイグアナに出会った。のそりのそりと歩いていた。
I often saw red crabs in a rocky shore. We came across a Galapagos land iguana soon after we landed on the island. The iguana was walking slowly.

リクイグアナは乾燥した細い草のある所に来ると、その草を食べ始めた。こんな枯草美味しいの？粗食家だねえ。ミネラル補給の意味でもあるのかな？リクイグアナはいかつい顔をしているがとてもおとなしい動物だ。
The Iguana came to the place where thin dry grasses grew and begun to eat them. Are such dry grasses delicious? You are really a gross eater. Does it have a meaning of any mineral supply? Galapagos land iguana has rugged features, but is a very quiet animal.

この場所での食事時間は2分程度、イグアナはまた歩き出した。体全体が金色っぽい色をしていて、全長1m程度だった。他の島には高速ボートでも2時間位かかるので、このリクイグアナは他の島に移動できないだろう。North Seymour島で固有の進化をとげたリクイグアナらしい。
The iguana began to walk again after about two minutes of mealtime at this place. The whole body was gold-like color and around 1m in total length. This land iguana may not move to other island because it is far from this island of about two hours even by the speedboat. This Galapagos land iguana seems to have accomplished evolution in North Seymour Island.
