吸水するカラスアゲハ, A swallowtail butterfly absorbing water

湿った地面から吸水する習性をもつオスのカラスアゲハ, A male swallowtail butterfly that has the habit of absorbing water from damp ground.

柏の葉第2水辺公園を散歩中、湿った地面で吸水する黒いアゲハ蝶を見かけた。前ハネ表にきれいな金属光沢をもつ緑色が見える。カラスアゲハのオスのようだ。アゲハ蝶は長い時間水を飲み続けた。

While walking in Kashiwanoha 2nd Waterside Park, I spotted a black swallowtail butterfly absorbing water from the damp ground. I could see a beautiful metallic green color on the front wings. It looked like a male Chinese peacock (Papilio dehaanii). The swallowtail butterfly kept drinking water for a long time.
