White-bellied green pigeon, which is a Japanese resident bird but rarely seen.

In the woods of the park, several birders pointed their telephoto lenses toward the branch of a tree. As I approached, a White-bellied green pigeon was perched on a branch surrounded by green leaves. When I heard the story, they said that the green pigeon appeared relatively early in the morning recently. On this day, I arrived at the forest about an hour earlier than last time (Oct. 21), so it seems that it was time for the green pigeon to appear.

The green pigeon stays on a branch and does not move much. If the pigeon does not move on a branch surrounded by green leaves, it is difficult to find because of its protective color. This green pigeon is probably a male because part of its wings appears dark red from its shoulders. I have seen green pigeons in Akigase Park before.
